Who We Are
The Merissa L. Frye Small Cell Cervical Cancer Memorial Foundation (MLF Foundation) was established in early 2018 to honor the life and legacy of Merissa L. Frye, a beloved daughter, cousin, and friend of the foundation’s board members.
In January 2018, at just 28 years old, Merissa courageously lost her battle with a rare and aggressive form of cervical cancer. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit ignited a mission within those closest to her: to continue the fight she faced with such bravery.
Today, that mission lives on through the MLF Foundation.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our local community. Every dollar raised stays local and is directed toward initiatives that support patients, advance research, and strengthen essential community resources. Over the past 7 years, through charity golf outings, raffle events, and bingo events, we have proudly raised more than $125,000 in support of this mission.

7th Annual Charity Golf Scramble Announced!
The MLF Memorial Foundation is proud to once again host our annual charity golf scramble—and we’re aiming even higher this year! Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we raised over $20,000 last year. Now, with your help, we’re ready to make an even bigger impact.
This year’s proceeds will continue to support causes that are close to our hearts. Funds will benefit the Macungie Ambulance Corps through the Merissa L. Frye First Responder Training Fund. In partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network, we also support the Merissa L. Frye Cancer Research and Compassion Fund, which advances women’s cancer research and provides financial assistance for uncovered medical expenses. Additionally, we remain committed to supporting the Emmaus High School IEP Project.
At just $120 per golfer, this event is an incredible value compared to other scrambles—while delivering a truly memorable experience. Your registration includes breakfast items, a catered lunch, beer and soda, and entry into exciting on-course games and challenges. Plus, enjoy music from our DJ and hear from our special guest speakers throughout the day.
